The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is the region's specialist resource for children and adolescents with severe mental health issues.

Together with other actors in the region, we are tasked with providing equitable, needs-based, and cost-effective care for children and young people and their families. Collaboration is a significant and important part of our work.

The operation consists of inpatient care, around the clock at ward 48, as well as day care and visits in outpatient care at reception 5 - the unit for eating disorders and the eating support team (ÄST). At all levels, nutritional treatment is conducted in close collaboration with various multidisciplinary teams in the form of individual dietary treatment and advisory conversations.

We look forward to creating seamless care for our patients with various eating disorder diagnoses, where you as a dietitian will contribute your expertise both to families and to us in the staff group.

Your tasks

As a dietitian in BUP's eating disorder care, you work across care levels in multidisciplinary teams and participate in the operations' rounds, treatment conferences, where the teams together formulate a common treatment plan for the patients. The overall treatment framework consists of a family-based treatment in three phases that follows the Maudsley model for the treatment of eating disorders.

The patient group consists of adolescents with eating disorders, sometimes in combination with other diagnoses. The care levels consist of inpatient care around the clock as well as day care and visits in outpatient care. At all levels, nutritional treatment is conducted in close collaboration with various multidisciplinary teams in the form of individual dietary treatment and advisory conversations.

In inpatient care, you support the staff in dietary-related questions and in the design of meal plans with the primary aim of reversing starvation and preparing the patient for continued treatment of eating disorders by strengthening dietary-related parental skills.

In day care, you support the staff in designing meal plans and act as support for the patient and relatives as needed. In outpatient care, you have individual or joint visits together with practitioners from other professional fields and conduct nutritional treatment with adolescents and parents.

Organizationally, you work to create structure and uniform approaches across care levels regarding diet and nutrition.

Your knowledge and competencies

We are looking for a licensed dietitian with an interest in children and young people with psychiatric issues. We believe that you have worked a few years in the profession. It is meritorious if you have experience working with children and young people and their parents. Previous experience in psychiatry and eating disorder issues is also meritorious. We view positively if you have taken extra university credits in psychology, and/or previously worked in eating disorder care.

As a person, we see that you have an easy time communicating in a clear and concrete way and contribute to creating and maintaining structure. You are flexible and can adapt to different situations and needs. You want to work in a team and find it easy to collaborate with other professionals. Your ability to create clarity and structure is an important part of achieving common goals. We place great emphasis on good collaboration skills and personal qualities.
